New York, NY: July 4th, 2005

For the 4th of July we went to New York City! I think we crammed every possible sight seeing/tourist attraction into our four days in New York! It was so awesome!

By the end of our time in New York we had the subway system mastered!

We had to have a slice of "New York" style pizza...it was delicious!

Mark doing his King Kong impersonation!

I think the Statue of Liberty was the best part of the whole trip!
We had so many people laughing at us as I lined up this picture...but then they all copied us and did the same exact pose!

We stopped briefly on Ellis Island. We didn't do any formal tours but we walked around on our own. It was amazing to think how many immigrants were processed into this country on this island!

We walked across Brooklyn Bridge. It is the oldest bridge in New York and the only one you can walk across.

Hanging out in Times Square one night.

This fountain is in front of City Hall.

Mark in front of St. Patrick's Cathedral.

This picture was taken at ground zero. When the buildings collapsed two of the support beams were left standing in this cross formation. They have chosen to leave them standing untouched.

Outside the Ed Sullivan Theatre, home of the Late Show with David Letterman.

We walked down 5th avenue but everything was closed for some reason???

Mark wanted a picture in front of the Playboy offices.

Carnegie Deli was so fun but we had no idea how big the sandwiches were going to be!!

A couple pictures with the FDNY & NYPD.

A trip to New York wouldn't be complete without a carriage ride around Central Park!

Rockefeller Center isn't as impressive without the big Christmas Tree.

We had to wait in line for nearly 2 hours to get to the top of the Empire State Bldg. The lines are long since the World Trade Centers are gone it is the highest point in New York.

I held my had out over the edge and took a picture looking straight down.

We went and saw the show "Rent". It was AMAZING!

Our last night in New York we watched the Macy's fireworks display. It was incredible! There were so many fireworks in the air we had ashes falling on us like rain.
