Turks & Caicos

We were in the Salt Cay Villas which are # 6. Our building was the one closest to the ocean.

The red "X" shows where we were on the islands.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Since we arrived on the island on Mother's Day we decided to wait and celebrate when we got there. It was the best Mother's Day ever! The kitties gave me season 3 of the Golden Girls and Daddy & Olivia gave me a gold chain with a ruby pendant. It is very pretty!

(Left) Our housekeeper made an animal out of towels each day. Olivia liked this puppy the best.

(Below & Right) The bed in the room was low enough that Olivia could climb up on it. She liked to play up there and snuggle in the sheets.

BEACH FUN!!!

It goes without saying that the beach/ocean was incredible! We've been to numerous carribean beaches and they are all beautiful but this one was in a class of it's own! The sand was incredibly soft, the water was crystal clear and to look out at the ocean... it looked like a post card. The pictures don't do it justice but you can still tell it was gorgeous!

(Left) Olivia would stand on the beach and wait for the tide to come up and then she'd chase the water . It was so funny.

Sesame Street Childrens Parade
Camp Elmo put on a Children's Parade full of all the Sesame Street characters and authentic Turks & Caicos entertainment. The parade started in the main lobby and went all around the resort. It was very fun!

(Left) When Olivia saw Zoe she ran out into the parade to touch her.

(Below) Zoe was definately Olivia's favorite!
(Below) This is a funk band playing traditional Turks and Caicos instruments. The only instrument the same as US bands were the drums. Beyond that they were very different but this band absolutely rocked!

(Left) It's hard to tell from the picture but Olivia was dancing like crazy to the band.

Mark and I had a couple adult experiences. We each had a massage at the spa and we went on a snorkeling expedition to Pink Elephant Cay. During these times Olivia went to Camp Elmo and played with the kids!

All of the pools had swim-up bars where you could get drinks. Because Beaches is a child friendly resort they always have plenty of banana slushies & strawberry slushies on had for the kids. We all had so much fun floating and drinking and playing in the water!

(Left) The bartender was so nice. He would give the kids high-fives as he served them their slushies.

(Left) Olivia wanted to share her slushie with me.

Olivia loved the flowers that were growing on our balcony. She looked so cute I just had to take some pictures!

All of the pools had large rock formations with waterfalls. Behind the waterfalls were openings that you could swim through into a cave. The caves had benches to sit and get out of the sun. Olivia found these caves very intriguing!

There were numerous different pools in the resort. This one had waterslides and was very fun! Olivia would giggle all the way down the slide.

SESAME STREET CHARACTER BREAKFAST

Beaches has a Sesame Street theme for all the kids. We went to the character breakfast and Olivia got to meet all the Sesame Street characters. We were amazed that she knew the names of all of them even before we said anything. She's only watched Sesame Street a handful of times but she knew them all.

Olivia would call out all the characters names and jump up and down and squeal! Then when they came over to see her she was instantly shy. LOL! We're just thankful she didn't cry as many of the children did at the breakfast.

Our phenomenal suite! We had a two room suite with two huge balconies. Both of which looked out onto the beach!
(The pictures were taken the morning we were packing so the room is in disarray but you can still see how awesome it was!)
